The Brain Injury Association of New South Wales is the only statewide organisation in NSW dedicated to serving all persons affected by acquired brain injury'those with acquired brain injuries, family members, friends, professionals, and the broader community.
Benelong's Haven Ltd Aboriginal Family Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre was founded in 1974 by Dr Valerie Bryant-Carroll OAM. The centre and hostel is situated on the banks of the Macleay River between Kempsey and South West Rocks on the mid North Coast of NSW. Dormitory accommodation is provided for single males and family rooms for couples with or without children. The Program treats all forms of addiction. It does this by seeking to re-establish spiritual bonds in human relationships damaged by addiction. Addiction is reliance on substances or activities for emotional support instead of human relationships. Mental Health Carers ARAFMI NSW Inc aims to provide mutual support education and advocacy to relatives and friends of people with mental illness. ARAFMI NSW has a number of regional offices and a number of local support groups that operate in metropolitan and rural areas of NSW. ARAFMI services include advocacy, education, support, regular newsletters and an Information and Support phone line which operates during business hours. ARAFMI aims to support families and carers of people with a mental illness as well as promoting a better understanding of mental illness among the general public.
