Legal Aid NSW provides legal services to disadvantaged clients across NSW in most areas of criminal, family and civil law. Legal Aid NSW also assists people experiencing domestic and family violence. We work in partnership with private lawyers who receive funding from Legal Aid NSW to represent our clients.
We administer funding for a range of community partnership programs.
We also take a broader role in identifying opportunities to improve access to justice for our most disadvantaged clients. We contribute to law and policy reform by writing submissions and policy papers on issues that affect our clients.

We are prisoners, academics, victims of crime, ex-prisoners, lawyers and general community members dedicated to making a change. We believe that meaningful change depends upon the free exchange of information, community involvement and a taking of responsibilities from all members of the community high or low.
ISP was born out of the promise that was made to the women who participated in the research that their story would make a difference in the services provided at domestic violence and substance abuse agencies, along with the expressed urgency by the agencies involved in the research to improve services for substance abusing battered women.
The mission of ISP is to enhance safety and sobriety of substance abusing battered women by ending discrimination in service provision. The ISP promotes the improvement of service delivery through research, agency education, technical support, and the facilitation of collaboration between service providers.
