DAY 21
Hello everyone,
It is a very sad situation when the children, for whom Roseanne went to jail and were very supportive of her during her trial, have turned around and now completely gone against her. However, last week when Barry Catt was on the stand he mentioned how after Roseanne was incarcerated, he had received victims compensation but the children had missed out. He continued to say "but with this coming up they might be able to have another go at it!". One of the Catt boys had been boasting how they will get a lot of money out of this. (Forgive me Lord for being cynical!).
The judge told the media today that the children's names were not to be used so therefore I won't either. However what I can tell you is that one of the Catt girls whose new evidence had been produced, admitted that she had spoken to no-one from 1991 to January 2003 about all the new evidence. She kept saying "we're telling the truth now" which implies that they have all perjured themselves in previous trials.
Whilst on the stand answering questions by the barrister there was a woman in the gallery seen by at least 3 others present, giving signals to the Catt girl, by nodding her head forward (yes) or side to side (no).
Despite all the lies, it was still a very good day because the Catt girl was obviously not a good liar!
Tomorrow one of the Catt boys will be on the stand. Please continue to pray that all liars will be ensnared in their own traps.

DAY 22
Hello everyone,
The Catt boys were on the stand today and talk about a "chip off the old block"! One raved on like his father but all he managed to do was discredit himself by getting muddled up in his lies. They both insisted they were under Roseanne's control. However it would have been a bit hard for her whilst in jail to force them to write beautiful letters to her. One denied he'd written to her in jail until the brilliant barrister produced his letter. Even after she went to jail they still did not change their statements until recently. The boys had even taken on Roseanne's maiden name Beckett and it wasn't until 1995 that they changed it back to Catt.
One of the boys told the Court how Adrian Newell showed him the rock and a picture of the gun. When asked where did Newell get the rock and photographs the Catt boy said Newell got them from the Court house and had them at his place. Newell was showing him all the stuff from the Court house around the time of the Sixty Minutes program.
The Judge talked about the embargo on the Barry Catt sexual asssault trial stating he wanted to know the whole history and that the Crown should go about having the suppression order lifted. The Crown and the Defence both agreed they would jointly pursue this matter of having the transcripts unsealed. (Thank you LORD!)
Tomorrow one of the boys will continue on the stand and then the other Catt girl.
Please continue to warfare in prayer until those transcripts are unsealed, and then all will truly be revealed.

DAY 23
Hello everyone,
Praise the LORD! Another answer to prayer! The embargo has been lifted off the Barry Catt Sexual Assault Trial for the purpose of this Inquiry.
One of the Catt boys was on the stand all day and revealed that Peter Thomas and Adrian Newell were with the Catt kids during the Sixty Minutes interview. (Thomas and Newell seem to be cropping up everywhere!)
Even though the boy insisted Roseanne had such a control on the kids, the barrister pointed out how it would have been difficult for her to force them to visit her in jail and yet they had visited her many times. Also, whilst living with his foster parents, the boy wrote letters to Roseanne. He said that Roseanne always kept the kids isolated from other people. However he was shown family photographs of Roseanne with the kids and other family, friends and children.
One of the girls was supposed to be on in the afternoon but when the Crown handed up her fresh statement, literally the whole Court gasped in disbelief and chuckled at the size of it - thicker than the ream of paper her sister had produced the previous day! The Judge is in for some wearying reading!
With all this new damning evidence given by the Catt kids (HUGE statements given in January 2003) - as the barrister had asked each one: "After Roseanne went to jail, did you tell anyone about this?" Answer: No. "Did you tell any police? - No. Did you tell your doctor? No. Did you tell the psychiatrist? No.
But here they are, 10 years later, after having given evidence at Barry Catt's trial; Roseanne's trial; Peter Bridge's trial - now producing volumes of paper of allegations of what they now call the truth!
The Judge has adjourned the matter until Monday but says it won't be until later in the day before the other Catt girl is on the stand, as the Judge and barristers will surely be deliberating over the volumes of new stuff!

DAY 24
Hello everyone,
It was a slow long day with legal arguments for most of the day so it didn't really get underway until after 2pm when the second Catt girl was on the stand.
There was that phrase again: "I can't remember". She couldn't even remember something a month ago but then would suddenly recall something back in 1986. She has inherited her father's quirk for raving on about everything without actually answering the question. On a couple of occasions Judge Davidson had to stop her and tell her to answer the question. Another time he told her to listen to the question and answer it.
Barrister Andrew Martin questioned her about all her evidence she had given previously at trials; to the police; to Family & Community Services; psychiatrists; doctors; counsellors etc. which she replied were all lies. He said: you gave evidence at Barry Catt's trial where you mentioned a series of names [the barrister named 12 men's names] that had committed sexual assault against yourself and your brothers and now you are saying it is all lies? Yes, she said.
For the past week all the Catt kids have said the same thing...that they all lied at previous trials but now, 14 years later they are telling the truth! Even during the 10 years whilst Roseanne was in jail they hadn't told anybody about this new truth - volumes of it - until just before the Inquiry!
(Reminds me of a story about a boy and a wolf!)
She also said that Adrian Newell told her he had copies of the lines which Roseanne forced the children to write and learn what to say in Court and that he told her they are ready for this Court proceedings. He told her he found them in Roseanne's garbage bin (14 years ago!).
Adrian Newell's name keeps cropping up everywhere...and gee the whoppers just keep getting bigger! (Sorry LORD!)
Judge Davidson wanted to clear up some misunderstanding about the Certificates issued to the Catt witnesses. He said the Certificates are not protecting them from prosecution but are only to do with this Inquiry. He said it doesn't mean that they cannot be prosecuted.
The Catt girl will continue tomorrow at 11:00 am.
Please continue to pray for GOD's TRUTH in all these proceedings; praise Him for answered prayer; pray protection for all the Defence witnesses. Pray GOD's salvation for Barry Catt, Peter Thomas, Adrian Newell - they need JESUS in their lives and only then will they have peace in their hearts! Amen!
Please pray total restoration of spirit, soul and body for the 4 Catt children - Tony, Christopher, Julie and Sharon. Pray GOD's supernatural healing power to their emotions to cover the scars of what happened to them in their childhood.

DAY 25
Hello everyone,
Adrian Newell (he just can't keep away!) telephoned the Crown witness, the Catt girl, yesterday morning before she was due to give evidence. She informed Det. Boyd-Skinner assisting the Crown, who in turn handed up a Statement this morning to the Court. The Judge has now asked the Crown to put Newell on notice that he wants him back in the Court.
(Forgive me LORD for my cynicism but I wonder what "fresh" evidence Newell wants to bring in??)
She also said her father Barry Catt had rung her as well, just prior to Adrian Newell yesterday morning.
The Catt girl said it was Adrian Newell who organised the Sixty Minutes program last year and she said that whilst she was overseas on holiday he would email her on the ship. She learnt about the Appeal through one of his emails to her in America. Since returning to Australia in February 2002 she has had a talk with Newell about what she said in her 1993 Statement. She wanted him to clarify something about her Statement and when the Judge asked what made her think that he could help her, she said "because he had my statement". When the Judge asked who else's statements did Newell have, she seemed to think he might also have some of her brothers and sister.
Please continue to keep everybody in your prayers - Strength and Strategy for barrister, Andrew Martin; Wisdom for Judge Davidson; Protection for the Defence witnesses; Peace that surpasses all understanding for Roseanne and God's Perfect Will in this whole situation.

DAY 27
Hello everyone,
Adrian Newell denied talking to the Catt girl about the Inquiry. He agreed that he had telephoned her but denied that they talked about the case. He also denied ever contacting Dr Sara Williams, the children's psychiatrist and saying to her "you will be sorry if you persist with this case".
One of the Defence witnesses said that throughout the years Peter Thomas spoke about Roseanne Catt on a regular basis and often used to brag about how he planted the gun on Roseanne. The witness said Thomas told him "it is common knowledge I planted the gun". Thomas told the witness that at Roseanne Catt's trial, "the gun was the deciding factor that pushed the jury to convict her". The witness said of Thomas: "He would always use the phrase that she was a lower form of a sl-t which he also called the girls in the office".
He said Thomas also told him he drove a police car into a river when he was pis-ed. He said Thomas had a lot of police files and in October 1999 he saw a file with Roseanne Catt's name on it, also a file with Benny Elias,the footballer, bundled in pink ribbon, similar to legal files and with NSW Police on it, which Thomas had asked him to shred. The witness said Thomas told him that Roseanne used to send him a Christmas card every year. Later when the Crown suggested to the witness he was lying, the witness said Thomas told him that every year Roseanne sent him Christmas cards and that Benny Elias also did too.
He said Thomas would often talk about police matters, especially the gruesome things and he would show photographs of victims. One story Thomas told that really stuck in the witness' mind was about a case where a lady killed her husband with an axe and rang Peter Thomas and told him not to come until after lunch because she had the house open for inspection and people were coming to look through it. She hid the body under the bed. Thomas said that she did 5 years jail. The witness said he only found out in the last six months that the woman who killed her husband was Marie Whalen.
Thomas also told the witness that Barry Catt was a mate of his.
The witness also said that there was a dispute between a receptionist who worked with Peter Thomas - she had a claim of sexual harassment by him. During the dispute (Thomas and the girl shouting at each other), the witness said: "Thomas threatened the receptionist and said he would do her in like he did Roseanne Catt who was still rotting in jail in Sydney, words to that effect".
When the Crown cross-examined the witness the Crown suggested that because he hadn't mentioned the car in the river incident and the body under the bed in his initial affidavit, that the witness was lying, but the witness said the line of questioning was more on the gun than anything else, and he hadn't mentioned it because he hadn't been asked. He said "I could have given another 20 pages worth of information if I'd been asked."
The witness told the Court he had never met Roseanne before today. When asked if he had made first contact, he said after the Four Corners program in October 2000 it was Roseanne's solicitors, Brock Partners who contacted him through their private investigator.
What a day! Please continue to pray for protection for all the witnesses and their families. Thank you LORD for your supernatural touch upon barrister Andrew Martin and your Wisdom upon Judge Davidson.

DAY 28
Hello everyone,
Praise the LORD for His Mercy endures forever! What a fantastic day in Court!
Veteran child psychiatrist Dr Sara Williams, Order of Australia, said in all the years (50 yrs) she has worked on cases, she has never felt so disturbed about the Catt children, the case and how it was conducted. She was stopped from giving evidence at the original children's sexual assault trial as well as at Roseanne's trial. She was so concerned that she wrote to everyone trying to get justice. She also contacted ICAC about the children and then continued to try and find their parents. She finally got in touch with their father Barry Catt in 1992 but he said he didn't want them. He said there was some weird things about them. The next day Dr Sandfield (Barry Catt's doctor) rang Sara Williams and said that Barry didn't want the children and the following day after that Adrian Newell rang her and said Barry's not interested in the custody of the children and used a very threatening tone saying you will be very sorry you've got yourself mixed up in this.
Dr Williams said she was aware there was a paedophile ring in Taree then and still is now because she has another patient who has gone through the same as the Catt children.
In her opinion Dr Williams said Roseanne was the only person who ever cared for the children and that Christopher Catt really looked up to Roseanne's son, Peter. Dr Williams pointed out that she was unbiased because she has never read the trial notes.
Another Defence witness whilst being cross examined by the Crown, said that at Roseanne's trial she saw Peter Thomas and Adrian Newell walk down the corridor and then she saw Peter Thomas go in where the jury were.
Adrian Newell has been summoned to appear with his lawyer tomorrow.

DAY 29
Hello everyone,
A witness said he was handcuffed to a desk and assaulted by Peter Thomas at the police station. He also said they failed to return certain property of his.
Two witnesses said they did not give evidence at Roseanne's trial because they were too scared after having been threatened by Peter Thomas. One of them said Thomas told her "...you will get the same as Roseanne!".
The same witness said the children called Roseanne "Mum" and loved her very much. When they visited the family home they said whenever they were having cups of tea or coffee they always helped themselves to the milk in the fridge which the workers used as well. When asked, she said they were never told which milk they could or could not have.
The witness who accompanied Roseanne and others to a birthday celebration dinner at the local RSL Club (the night that James Morris said Roseanne had allegedly approached him (a stranger) to try and enlist him to kill her husband) told the Court that she was with Roseanne the entire evening at the Club and said Roseanne did not talk to any Aboriginal person there. She said that after dinner Roseanne was with all the girls dancing for most of the night.
Another witness said he had become acquainted with Roseanne's two children and the four Catt children and he observed Roseanne was fair and firm with the children and never critical, although he saw that the Catt children were very afraid of Barry Catt and Adrian Newell. He also said at Roseanne's trial he saw plain clothes detectives standing outside the Court perimeter fence amongst the media, taking photographs of Roseanne.
The Inquiry will continue next Monday and Tuesday and then be in recess for the next three weeks while barrister Andrew Martin prepares his summing up and submission to the Court on the 7th April when the Inquiry will reconvene.

1. Newel's legal rep (Newton) before the judge re. alleged contempt of court (namely Newel's ph.call to Sharon Catt morning she was due to give evidence. Judge " what is he (Newel) doing ringing Sharon Catt up? Newton "..clearly unwise." Newton was asked by Judge if he would like Boyd Skinner in the witness box so he could dispute what he says in his evidence "no".
2. Letter admitted into evidence re. Shane Gold. The letter that gave him immunity from prosecution if he changed his evidence.
Letter dated 5.06.1990.
3. Fax from Aspen admitted into evidence. Pharmaceutical co currently producing lithium - brand - lithicarbe. Gave a history of the foil packaging of lithium. Only one of 5 companies packaged lithium in foil and this did not occur until 1995. This rules out Sharon Catts evidence of remembering that the lithium was in foil.
4. Discussion ensued re date of Marie Whalen's trial - guilty plea and indicted on 10.10.9? on court on 12.10.1990 for sentence.
5. Doug Annets - lived for 4-5 years at 2 Cowan Rd, Taree with R. couldn't recall how many rifles/shot guns he had then.. Said they were locked up in a cabinet in the garage. Never saw R with a pistol or a revolver. Recalled photo taken of BC "BC wanted photo dressed up as a hunter or something". Used one of Dougs guns for the photo? "yes". Did police contact you re R arrest, "maybe by phone"
Did you receive a subpoena to give evidence at R trial "no". Know P. Thomas "Yes", "charged us with arson" Shown statement he made when interviewed by police internal affairs - this a true stat. "yes". Crown - use rifles? Did police come & see you in Wagga "no "
"not in Taree, only in Wagga" 4-5 yrs in Taree and you never used them there "that's right" When you transported rifles, R with you? "no".
6. Margaret Nagy (QLD) Purchased hotel, fire, lost all possessions - 1mth later contacted by Thomas "yes". PT said "if you tell me George torched pub I will make you a very rich woman".....I will make it worthwhile, even give you money, ..said he would put my husband away for life. (was separated fr husband).
7. Gina Heart - natural therapist. (Margaret is godmother to her children)..When finally interviewed by Thomas he told her he believed that George had started the fire- Gina said there was no forensic evidence to that fact and they were loosing money because they couldn't trade. Also had his elderly mother staying at the hotel that night. (Margaret , George living there at the time of fire, apparently started at 2am). ...PT said George had an accomplice and asked her if she had ever had sexual relationship with George .."offer you $10,000, you would say during a 'pillow conversation' that he said he started the fire."
8. Sharyn Cox. Trained counsellor, honours deg. Syd Uni, worked with children for many yrs. She told of telephone conversation with Marie Whalen. - Marie rang her and said she was approached by BC in the street that day - he said he would kill her husband, her and her children... Sharyon told her to go to the police - Marie said police will not listen. Sharyn then told her to contact a solicitor.......a few days after this conversation with Marie she heard news that Marie was supposed to have killed her husband which she found hard to believe. When asked what she thought about the fact that the children had withdrawn their allegations against their father, said she was not surprised. Other children had been know to do the same when taken away fr people who believed them and with people who doubted that they told the truth. Also trying to dealing with the anxiety and trying to get on with their lives.
After R arrest, SC asked the children if they wanted if what they had told her was the truth - they said no. Spent the weekend with her - they repeatedly spoke about R - spoke very fondly of their mum. Sent them to foster homes because of threats, Said she,G Baggs, and another woman (Mrs C Warne?) were to terrified to continue to work with the children any longer , when she was a baby sitter for Catt children she saw signs and children told her things that she didn't believe.
9. Grant Mackay - private investigator. Was in federal police, became private investigator in matters re insurance industry. - attention drawn to P Thomas - became associated with ABC TV show, critical of PTactivities... Subsequent to ABC prog became associated with Brock Partnership re locating potential witnesses who had known anything about R Catt etc.
